SCHOOL CONCERTS
Every year CAVATINA promotes around 50 school concerts featuring chamber music played by professional groups of the highest quality.
The main aim of these programmes is to make young people and their teachers aware of how accessible and enjoyable chamber music is.
Enjoyment of all music is increased by recognition and repetition and with this in mind CAVATINA considers these events as a continuing educational process by means of attending concerts in public venues, listening to CDs and DVDs and encouraging listening skills at all times.
CAVATINA is happy to provide material for class work (CDs etc.) and to subsidise tickets for external concerts.
The administrator and musicians are always happy to answer questions and give advice which would put staff and pupils at their ease for this completely novel experience.
In return we expect the whole-hearted support and participation of the Head Teacher and staff. Where such a commitment is forthcoming CAVATINA is happy to organise similar programmes on a regular basis.
Our programmes are structured for maximum interactivity. The ensembles working for us are carefully selected for their ability to interact with young audiences and are happy to receive feedback and suggestions from teachers.
Feedback from all the children summarising their reactions to each concert in the form of drawings and/or words is a very important feature of these visits. Once a year, the best individual entry is chosen as the CAVATINA Postcard of the Year. Details of the winning child and school are displayed on the postcard. The school receives a number of postcards for distribution and the winner receives a special prize. |
