From the outset CAVATINA’s work in schools was supported by a great number of professional ensembles working in the UK. Names such as the Barbican Piano Trio, Belcea Quartet, Chilingirian Quartet, Florestan Trio, Vanburgh Quartet and Wihan Quartet were delighted to visit schools with the view of attracting young people to their concerts.
CAVATINA believes that the ability to undertake effective outreach work is an essential dimension for successful chamber musicians seeking to develop new audiences. Some ensembles have a greater rapport with young people than others and many that we send into schools have developed a ‘CAVATINA style’, based on years of experience. We continue to engage new ensembles and encourage them to follow our guidelines.
Many of these ensembles have become firm favourites in the schools they visit and are known and loved on a personal basis. Some of the ensembles who still work regularly for us are:
